REQUIREMENTS FOR ASSOCIATE OF ARTS IN INTERIOR DESIGN 2014-15:
GENERAL EDUCATION :
Complete one of the following general education patterns:
A. California State University General Education (CSU-GE) pattern.
B. Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC), CSU
or UC version, for transfer to CSU, UC, and many independent
colleges and Universities. (Students using IGETC, UC version to satisfy
General Education must also take COM ST 001A to satisfy the
Associate Degree Oral Communication Requirement).
C. San Joaquin Delta College Associate Degree General Education

Associate in Arts Degree
Students planning to receive an Associate in Arts with their major area of concentration in Interior Design should refer to the latest San Joaquin Delta College Catalog for specific requirements. One requirement for an Associate in Arts Degree is the completion of 18 units in a major discipline. It is recommended that students select the 18 units from the core courses listed for the Interior Design Certificate.

Upon successful completion of the Interior Design Certificate, the student will be able to work from blueprints, make detailed floor plans, and draw furniture to scale. Additionally, they will be able to develop presentations for client approval to include a sketch or scaled floor plan showing furniture arrangement, color charts, and samples of upholstery, draperies, and wall coverings along with developing estimates for the installation cost of a design project.
